Have you robbed from God?

Have you been robbing from yourself?

The PowerBreak Podcast

Program 002

Presentation and discussion of Bob’s published article,

Are you cheating yourself with a light version

  1. JFirst Question: How can a person rob from God?

Malachi 3:8 (ESV) — 8Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions.

Malachi 3:10 (ESV) — 10Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lordof hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

2 Corinthians 9:7–11 (ESV) — 7Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 9As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” 10He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.

Mark 12:28–31 (ESV) — 28And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Luke 9:23 (ESV) — 23And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Colossians 3:23–24 (ESV) — 23Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Colossians 3:17 (ESV) — 17And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him

Second Question: How can I prepare for worship?

Acts 17:11 (ESV) — 11Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

Isaiah 66:1–2 (ESV) — 1Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? 2All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.

James 1:19–22 (ESV) — 19Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
